QC Inspector – HVAC Coil

The QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and ensuring the quality of HVAC coils during production and before dispatch. The role ensures compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and industry requirements, focusing on materials, brazing, fin quality, tube expansion, leakage, and overall coil performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Incoming Material Inspection

  • Inspect copper tubes, aluminum fins, headers, distributors, and other components.

  • Verify supplier quality certificates and ensure materials meet specifications.

2. In-Process Quality Control

  • Monitor coil manufacturing stages: fin stamping, tube expansion, brazing, assembly, and pressure testing.

  • Check dimensions, fin spacing (FPI), tube alignment, header/bushing quality, and brazing workmanship.

  • Ensure correct application of refrigerant circuits as per drawings.

3. Final Inspection

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of completed coils.

  • Perform pressure test, leakage test, and verify coating/painting standards.

  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling before dispatch.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare QC reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and maintain inspection records.

  • Verify compliance with customer specifications and ASHRAE/ARI guidelines.

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to ISO, safety, and quality management systems.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Assist in internal audits and customer inspections.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 3–4 years of QC experience in HVAC coil manufacturing (mandatory).

  • Knowledge of evaporator/condenser coil production processes.

  • Familiar with brazing, hydro testing, fin press operations, and coil finishing.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and coil circuit diagrams.

  • Knowledge of measurement tools (vernier, micrometer, pressure gauges, leak detectors).

  • Good communication and reporting skills.

  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and quality control standards.
