The Lab Chemist is responsible for conducting chemical analyses, experiments, and quality control tests to support product development, process improvement, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that all laboratory activities are performed safely, accurately, and efficiently in accordance with established standards, procedures, and industry regulations. The Lab Chemist provides technical expertise to interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory and production processes.
Key Accountabilities:
- Testing & Analysis: Carrying out day-to-day quality control duties including testing, preparation of samples and positive release of products.
- Equipment Management: Setting up, calibrating, cleaning, maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Data & Reporting: Recording, logging, and interpreting test results & writing reports and findings.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed logs of all activities, results, and observations.
- Laboratory Maintenance: managing supplies and ensuring a clean and organized work area.
- Quality Assurance: following established protocols, and ensuring all activities comply with GLP, safety and quality standards.
- Systems: Ensure implementation of Good Laboratory Practices.
Qualifications, Experiences, Skills:
- BSc, science chemistry or relevant ideally.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Laboratories & Manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of chemistry and analytical methods.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication skills to communicate across the organization.
Detail Oriented.
- Documentation.
